Commonwealth Games
The Commonwealth Games started on Wednesday, and even though I don’t have any tickets to any events, my partner and I went today, to have a look around. I worked till about 3, and then we took the train to another part of Melbourne, and got to look around at what’s going on. My partner of course, bought some Commonwealth “gear” I refrained from doing so. I saw some great stuff, but nothing that I had to absolutely have. ::smirks::
It’s interesting from my persepective, to watch a huge sportings event, that doesn’t include the States. I like it, but it’s just weird not ever hearing the Star Spangled Banner playing during the medals ceremony..lol-current mood-HAPPY and TIRED
Happy St. Patrick's Day
My family come from the land of Ireland…..well, on my mum’s side. St. Paddy’s day is always a wonderful celebration for them. So Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!! Drink lots of good beer, and don’t forget to wear green! I did today, in my hair, but no one noticed..lol. Must not be big here in Australia, St. Patrick’s Day.-current mood-Just content for the moment.
Happy Birthday Mum
Today is my mum’s birthday. Well, tomorrow is, here in Australia. I will be sending her warm thoughts throughout the day tomorrow. I feel sad that I can’t be there to help her celebrate her birthday. This will be the second birthday in a row that I’ve missed. Well, in truth I’ll be missing every one of her birthdays..but I think the long distance is getting the better of me at times. But hopefully Xmas I’ll be able to see my family and of course my kitty again.-current mood-TIRED, but not buggered.
First animation with PSP
So this weekend, I went and attempted my first animation with paint shop pro. I tried to copy and paste the image, but the animation wouldn’t work. I don’t quite know why it won’t, but I have a link to my photo album that you’re more than welcome to go to. It’s not password protected, so you should just be able to click on the link and see my first piece of work. It’s not fancy or anything, but hey I’m slowly learning. I have a great teacher, so thanks to Lisa for your help. It’s soo much appreciated!! Currently I’m working on trying to add the watermark tube to other pictures, not just the animation…that way when I start to do other stuff, I’ll be able to say “I DID THIS!!!” ::snickers::http://public.fotki.com/gaylicious/-current mood-INBETWEEN feelings at the moment.
Escalators
One would think, that the courteous thing to do…is if you’re on an escalator, and you’re not walking up or down it, you’d move to the left, that way people could get by. ::shaking head:: I was trying to catch my train tonight. I had 3 minutes from the gate to go down 2 flights of escalators to my platform. 3 minutes is a long time, because it’s not that far. But when there are as many people as there were, not to mention the bloody people blocking the escalators, I was worried I was going to miss the train. Not that it would have been a huge deal had I missed the train. But I wanted to get home as soon as possible, and waiting for the next train, only makes me crabby. Plus, as I came to find out, the train I was waiting for, was actually the earlier train that had been delayed because of a previous train.
Even though some people in front of me were walking down the escalator, they were walking EXTREMELY slow. I have short legs and I sometimes can’t keep up with people. But these people were totally, and I mean TOTALLY holding up the line. I felt like I was going to trip over my own feet. If it wasn’t those people walking incredibly slow, it was other people blocking the pathway. I just couldn’t win today..::shaking head::-current mood-GLAD I HAD YESTERDAY OFF, the week is going to fly by. Though I do have to work this Saturday.
CD burner is working
Soo after posting the past entry, I did some messing around. I remember my brother in law asking me if I had used any other cds to try burning the data onto. I told him I tried other cds, but not other brands. I wanted to humor myself last night, so I had a few cd-rws that were lying around. I erased the discs, and tried to burn some data onto these cds. Lo and behold, it worked!!! I had another cd-r that had some data on it, but there was enough space to add to the cd. I tried that, it was yet a different brand, and it worked. So I’m going to try and buy some other cd-rs and try to see if they work. Even though I tried heaps of different discs of the current cd-r brand we have, it still wouldn’t work. I don’t know why it doesn’t work, being that it worked before. ::shrugs shoulders:: But at least I know the cd burner does still work. It’s just a matter of trying to find which brands it works with.-current mood-HAPPY, enjoying my day off. It's Labour Day here in Aus today!
CD burner playing up
I haven’t been able to get my cd burner to work. I’ve reformatted my computer, in thinking that that’d make it work. It’s been awhile since I’ve had the computer reformatted and since then I’ve had a lot of programs put on and what not. But I wanted to burn some data onto a cd, since it’s cheaper than burning onto a dvd, but it won’t read any of the cds I put in. The cd burner sounds like it’s trying to read, but it doesn’t. The cd burner I have is a dual layer, cd/dvd burner. It’s an LG Super Multi DVD drive GSA-4082B. I can burn data onto dvds, but the cd part of the burner won’t work. I don’t know if that means I need to update my drivers (firmware?) or if there is such a thing where the cd burner won’t work, but the dvd burner part will. I’m completely stumped. I’m hoping to get my brother in law to come over and take a look, but even then, I don’t know if he knows. He’s said before that he has never had this happen. We may have to buy a new cd burner, but they’re not that expensive these days. I just have to find out the right cd burner to buy. I’m not all that savvy with motherboards and slots they’re supposed to go into or anything.
Any readers have any idea what the issue might be? I’d love some feedback. If I rectify the problem, I’ll let you know ::smiles::-current mood-ANNOYED that I can't get the burner to work.
